Foundation #1 - Hashem-Based Refusal of Victimhood. I refuse to be a victim of circumstances or even of my own emotions. I recognize that because Hashem has given me bechira chofshis, my emotions and actions are never truly the products of other people or any other forces outside of me, even though it may feel that way. By taking ownership of my mental and emotional state, I can choose who I want to be and how I want to act in any situation. I know and feel that exercising this power of choice is the key to living the best possible version of my life.

 I feel a deep, unwavering sense of unconditional self-worth. I consciously keep this feeling strong by connecting to the knowledge that Hashem values and loves me unconditionally, with a love as strong as I can imagine and even stronger. I know and feel that this unconditional value does not increase because of my successes or decrease because of my shortcomings.

Foundation #5 - Hashem-Based Freedom from Fear. In line with the advice of the Baal Shem Tov's father, I know that fear of anything other than Hashem will hold me back. I actively work to get these fears out of my system by converting my “needs” into preferences and practicing emunah, hishtavus, and bitachon.
